Stressful moment with the kids: the 90-second preparation
A 90-second ritual to prepare for the evening routine with the kids: breathe with a coach, rehearse the moment in your mind, and set an anchor you can recall on the spot.
1 · Arrive — 30 seconds
Breathe with Jenn using the Vagus Stress Reset pattern: Inhale 4s · hold 2s · exhale 8s · hold 2s. The coach video and the music follow every inhale and exhale, so you do not have to count.
2 · Rehearse — 45 seconds
- Picture the evening routine with the kids. Let it be exactly as it is — nothing to fix yet.
- Notice where you feel it in the body. Breathe into that spot.
- See the most difficult moment. Watch yourself stay slow and grounded.
- Choose one small thing you will do first, and see yourself doing it.
- See yourself afterwards: calmer than you expected, still standing.
3 · Anchor — 15 seconds
Rest one hand on your belly. Say quietly: “Here.” In the real moment, repeat the gesture and one long exhale to recall the prepared state.
Afterwards — the check-in
AHΞHA asks you later how it went: worse, as expected, or better. Your answers build your personal proof record.
Why mental rehearsal
Athletes, surgeons and musicians have used imagery for decades: vividly imagining an action engages many of the same brain networks as doing it, and slow exhales shift the body toward its calming (parasympathetic) branch. AHΞHA packs both into one short, repeatable ritual. It is a preparation tool, not a medical treatment.
