Presentation: how to prepare in 90 seconds
Speaking in front of people is one of the most common fears there is. Even experienced speakers feel their heart race before they start. The goal is not to remove the nerves but to start calm, so the first minute goes well and the rest follows.
What happens in your body and mind
Stage fright is your stress response at work: adrenaline, a dry mouth, a shaky voice, a mind that goes blank. Slow breathing with a long exhale counters this directly and steadies the voice. Rehearsing the start of your talk in your mind makes the real start feel familiar.
Your 90-second routine with Zineb
1. Arrive, 30 seconds. Breathe with Zineb: Inhale 4s · hold 4s · exhale 5s · hold 1s. The first half of the video plays while you breathe in, the second half while you breathe out. The FLOW line shows you when to breathe, and the music follows your breath.
2. Visualize, 45 seconds. Five short scenes walk you through your presentation:
- Picture the place where your presentation happens. Notice the light, the temperature, the sounds.
- See yourself arrive a few minutes early. Shoulders low. Breath slow and quiet.
- The first moment: you make eye contact and your first sentence comes out calm and clear.
- A hard question comes. You pause, exhale, and answer in your own words.
- See the end: you leave knowing you showed who you really are.
3. Anchor, 15 seconds. Press thumb and index finger together. Say quietly: “Ready.” Use the same gesture later, in the real moment, with one long exhale.
When to use it
- The day before, after your last practice run.
- On the morning of the presentation.
- Five to ten minutes before you go on stage or share your screen.
Tips for your presentation
- Learn your first three sentences by heart. During the visualization, hear yourself say them slowly.
- Picture one friendly face in the audience and speak to that person first.
- If you lose your thread, use your anchor: pause, exhale, look at your notes and continue. Pauses feel longer to you than to the audience.

Why it works
Mental rehearsal, picturing a situation step by step before it happens, uses many of the same brain networks as the real action. Athletes, musicians and surgeons use it to prepare. Slow breathing with a longer exhale shifts the body towards its calming, parasympathetic side. AHΞHA puts both into one short routine you can repeat whenever you need it. Read the research.
Frequently asked questions
How can I calm my nerves right before a presentation?
Make your exhale longer than your inhale, for example in for 4 and out for 6, for one to two minutes. It is quick, invisible, and works standing in the hallway.
What if my voice shakes?
A shaky voice usually comes from shallow breathing. Breathe low into the belly before you start and take a calm breath before your first sentence.
Is the routine free?
Yes. This routine is free and works in your browser, without an account. With a free account you can choose any coach, situation and music, and share sessions with friends.
Can I get a reminder before your presentation?
Yes. Install AHΞHA on your phone and set your own reminder times. A push message starts the routine with one tap.
